I felt it is good to share this concept that would line up with Scripture here , that Jonah in the old testament of the bible was a person who had been when he left on the ship or boat to Tarshish too 'narrow' like some persons who might be too far in favor only of their area or land being blessed by God thinking they are very entitled to it and they deserve what they hold and others 'outside' do not and that God can only see things happening in that holy or promised land [if you see my point here and the Lord does care about people in such farther or remote regions of that day , about 800 BC ] . And so this man would be so narrow and thus would not like preaching to those 'heathen' Ninevites ( we cannot deny how evil and inhumane these people were a fact in history ) / other idea is he was scared of them to preach to them because they were so brutal , but the narrowness concept is likely even more true . SO we can learn from the fellas character and how he was flawed as many can be that even know God already / God is trying to reveal things to him as he embarks on that boat out to sea! Obviously he experiences chastening from God and seeks Him intently which is the best choice for then . But you can see the resulting 'good' fruits or growth from it . Not all need a kick in the pants that way though .Though who would really want to stay spiritually or religiously so narrow or even legalistic too ? Which appears not God's way here.Maybe it is why Jonah is referred to by Jesus in the sense of even preaching truth as a message or a warning .And A type of resurrection of Him too. / I was in this site before from later 2015 ,but needed to start my account again .
